How
Ikbal Could be Success

I
have a smart friend. His name is Muhammad Ikbal Apria Kosasih. What a long name
that is. He was my classmate n elementary school but we still our friendship
even we have been in senior high school. Sometimes I visit him at his house.
His house is not far from my own home. I just have to pass a straight way to
his home. He lives in Center Cipedes. He has five siblings and he is the
smarter among his family. In elementary school, he would be one of the best
students in the school. He included one of the best ten in the class. I am
inspired by him and that is way I select him to be a resource person on my
interview. I interview him by some question like the way makes him success in
academic and extracurricular, about his effort, his achievement as long as he
becomes a student, and I asked for his suggestion. I recorded the interview by
my phone in front of a mosque beside his home in Sunday morning.
Me : “Assalamualaikum. Good morning!”
Ikbal : “Waalaikumussalam. Oh, morning!”
Me : “Excuse me. May I go with you to the
front of the mosque?”
Ikbal : “Oh, yeah off
course.”
Me : “Would you like to make time to answer my
question?”
Ikbal : “Yeah. Why not?
What can I do for you?”
Me : “I just need you to be my resource person
of my interview. Maybe it will be consuming your time. I hope you are not busy
right now.”
Ikbal : “Yes,
fortunately I’m not busy.”
Me : “As we now that you are so smart in
elementary school, in junior high school, even in your senior high school.
Those are right?”
Ikbal : “Yes, people
said like that. But, do you know? It’s
too high.”
Me : “Oh, you are so humble. By the way I ever
see a tall trophy, right?”
Ikbal : “Yes.”
Me : “When did you get that?”
Ikbal : “I got it when
I was in junior high school. I won a contest of an extracurricular.”
Me : “Wow! How did you win the contest?”
Ikbal : “I had to pass
a selection of the contest first.”
Me : “No, no, no. Ain’t about that. I mean how
could you win the contest, it’s talking about your effort.”
Ikbal : “Oh, yeah. I
understand. To win the contest, I have to exercise myself twice a week. I
guessed what will be in the contest an do my best.”
Me : “Oh, I see. So, moreover, you are so
clever in your school too. I hear that you got the second rank of your school.
You are almost the best among hundreds else. Please tell me how you could be
like that.”
Ikbal : “I just study.
I learn anything.”
Me : “How did you study?”
Ikbal : “I study every
day until the middle of the night. And you know that instant learn won’t give
you the best range.”
Me : “Oh, I see. I felt it too. Do you not
feel boring during studying?”
Ikbal : “No, I don’t. I
don’t study all the time. I’m hearing songs or watch television while I’m
studying. So, I always enjoy.”
Me : “Oh. What a nice
idea for me. You almost always be the best wherever you are, in elementary
school, junior high school even senior high school. How do you keep your
position?”
Ikbal :“First, I have
to be optimistic. I should throw away anything makes I fall or confused. I
always pray and do the best I can. The most important is keeping your faith. Do
not give up. Rise when you fall.”
Me : “How do you handle
your homework? I have any problem with homework. I’m too lazy accomplish
something like homework. I mean it just waste my time.”
Ikbal :“Don’t think
homework just waste your time. It helps you to improve your score. You can
learn something by your homeworks too.”
Me : “You are so
enthusiasm. I’m too lazy. What do you think about keep enthusiasm?”
Ikbal :“I think keep
yourself to be enthusiasm is like motivate yourself and remember your ambition
every time.”
Me : “Do you have
someone motivates you. Please tell me. Who is that?”
Ikbal :“Yes, I have. He
is my elder bother.”
Me :“Where is the most
comfortable place to study in your opinion?”
Ikbal :“In my opinion,
the best place to study is a place where not noisy. It helps you to be more
focus.”
Me : “Okay, we’re
almost done. Please give a suggestion how to be success like you!”
Ikbal :“Yes, off course.
There are three things that you have to remember to be success. Praying, do
your best as possible as you can, and keep your faith.”
Me : “What a good advice it is. I hope those
are won’t be had to do.”
Ikbal :“I think so.”
Me : “So, thank you so
much because you have given you time for me. I wish it will give benefit to
us.”
Ikbal :“Amien. Your welcome.”
Me : “Assalamualaikum.Bye! Nice to meet you!”
Ikbal :“Waalaikumussalam.Good bye.”
